What's
all the hoopla about "MICROFIBER"? Is it fluff, or substance?
We did the research, and see what we found............
Microfiber
towels have the lint free quality of a surgical towel, and are more
absorbent than terry towels. Microfiber is a man made material made
of 80% polyester and 20% polymide. The polyester allows the fiber
to be effective for scrubbing and cleaning, while polymide is the
absorbing, quick drying fiber. Microfibers are ten times finer than
silk, up to thirty times finer than cotton, forty times finer than
wool, and one hundred times finer than a human hair. Unlike terry
towels, which can push or smear the dirt and water, the microfiber
towel traps, scoops, and lifts the dirt into the towel. One square
inch of microfiber contains around 90,000 fibers, allowing the towel
to hold up to seven times its weight. Microfiber has an ultrafine
fiber that starts out as a single microfiber. It is then divided
into sixteen even finer fibers that are woven together; the result
is a highly absorbent cloth that is gentle to any delicate surface.
Microfiber
holds up to seven times its weight in dirt or liquid. The ultrawave
attracts the grime and liquid deep into the microfibers and holds
it deep within the fiber like a magnet. This allows you to clean
without spreading dirt, lint, grease, and liquids to other areas.
When the fiber becomes completely saturated, meaning the fiber no
longer attracts the dirt and liquids, they can be rinsed under the
tap with hot soapy water or, if the fibers are extremely dirty,
wash them in the washing machine. Never use bleaches or any dryer
fabric softeners. Microfiber towels can be line dried or lightly
fluffed in a dryer. Microfiber towels dry in about one third of
the time as a normal towel. Microfiber towels can be washed up to
five hundred times with no deterioration in performance.
Our tests showed
microfiber cloths to lift dust off the dash and exterior surfaces,
literally trapping the dust in the cloth. No evidence could be found
of streaking or smearing, an added benefit. We even took the towel
into the house and tried it on light fixtures, mirrors, and fine
wood furniture surfaces. We lightly dampened the cloth with tap
water and we were extremely pleased with the results of the cloth,
both wet and dry. Being very skeptical going into this trial, we
must admit we are definitely sold on the many benefits of the towel.
We recommend them highly to all our customers. We think you will
be as amazed as we were.
